Pinamar is located at less than 400km south of Buenos Aires over the Atlantic Ocean still in the province of Buenos Aires. It owes its name to a company that in the 30´s started foresting the dunes. Besides its wide beaches, you can find golf courts (check the Pinamar Cancha Grande Located at 1650 Shaw Ave.), tennis courts and a variety of cultural, gastronomic and nightlife activities.
You can get there by bus, train, car or plane. Taking the bus from the central station in Retiro (011-4310-0700) is a 5 hours trip and the cost is not more than USD20. Best time to go is from December to March but the most popular month is January.
Pinamar offers great hotels like the Algeciras (phone 02254 48550), the Arenas (phone 02254 482444) and many apart-hotels like the Cinco Soles, Del Bosque Suites or the Dos Mareas. Other option is to rent a house together with some friends.
If you have the chance, rent an ATV (cuatriciclo) with Nico beach, 1498 Cnel. Tomas Espora Ave. or all motos, la frontera puesto 3 and enjoy the energy of the dunes. Renting a horse (Club Vasco route 11 km 399, la herencia Shaw Ave. 3800) is another great activity.
If you like fishing (including sharks), you can rent a boat with Big Hobby (Bunge Ave 301) or solo pesca (02254) 495063 and get ready to get one! If it is a rainy day, you can go to the cinema, theater or the casino.
