Only 300km from the Capital Federal (better known as Buenos Aires) the beautiful and enchanting city of Rosario is a delightful getaway and peaceful vacation spot for those traveling through Argentina.
Rosario is located in the province of Santa Fe and lies quietly on the western shore of the great Rio Parana, one of three major rivers (Iguazu, Uruguay) that dominate this grand province. This area is characterized by its wild and diverse vegetation of subtropical forests, plentiful rivers, as well as its many cotton and citrus fruit plantations, all thriving due to the mild climate (14C-24C average) and moderate rainfall throughout the year.
The picturesque city of Rosario is home to over 1 million inhabitants is considered the third most important citiy in all of Argentina, being a major shipping centre for the north eastern provinces, thanks to its railroad terminal, and also for its lively port, shipping goods on local vessels throughout the country year round. Not only the heart of the most important industrial corridor of Argentina, its ever growing metropolitan centre continues to expand however always managing to keep its classical and ancient architecture, one of the major attractions of the city.
Rosario is truly a city rich with culture and the high population of youth and university students has made the city plentiful with community centers, art galleries, museums, concerts and theatre. Restaurants can be found everywhere, mostly scattered throughout the city, and it is absolutely possible to find any type of delicious cuisine but it is especially recommended to visit the restaurants near the river side that feature outdoor seating areas, perfect for those refreshing summer nights. Definitely worth mentioning, the bar, nightclub, and disco scene in Rosario is incredibly lively during the week but especially during the weekends when herds of youngsters hit the streets to go dancing with friends and strangers.
It is no wonder why Rosario is among the top favourites of Argentine cities, among with its growing metropolitan centre, the city offers plenty of activities to enjoy day or night, all year long.
