In the Patagonian province of Neuquén sits a small town called Villa Pehuenia, where the grey-blue waters reflect the surrounding snow-capped mountains in an enchanting display of nature’s glory. The town is in the west of the province, right on the shores of Lake Aluminé, offering its services and landscapes to families, couples and friends. The Mapuche community has long since fought to maintain its traditions and heritage, and Villa Pehuenia has allowed their customs to live on. The town is accessible from the city of Neuquén, starting along RN 22 towards Zapala. From there, there are a few different routes that can be taken to arrive at Villa Pehuenia.
